Guest Speaker: Dr. Doretha D. Allen, Pastor
Dr. Doretha D. Allen is a resident of Emporia, Virginia and a native of Rembert, South Carolina. She and her husband of 43 years, Elder Charlie E. Allen, are the parents of three sons: Sheldon Earl, Charles Bernard and Andrew Kirkland Allen. They have six God children.
Doretha and Charlie are the founders of Berean Light Ministries and Berean Light Bible Institute located at 413 Ingleside Avenue in Emporia, Virginia. They have been pastoring for eight years. Together, their ministry tenure spans an astounding 87 years of kingdom service. Having been saved since the ages of 17 and 19 respectively, they actually grew up in Christ together.
Dr. Doretha D. Allen is a visionary leader, teacher, author, wife, and mother. As an inspired author, she has written three books: The Dynamics of Discipleship, Called to Serve, and Five-Fold Ministry Gifts: The Biblical Method. As a gifted preacher and teacher, Dr. Allen is much sought after as a workshop facilitator, revivalist and conference speaker.
She is the producer of the “Berean Call”, a provocative radio program aired on WEVA 860 AM which broadcasts on 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM.
Her momentum for ministry comes from the favorite saying of her late pastor and mentor, Apostle Dr. Martha S. Parker: “All you need to do is furnish God a Life “.
